Error Spotting for State Bank of India Clerk Exam 2018 (Based on Phrasal Verbs):

Que. 1
Read the sentence to find out whether there is any error in it. The error, if any, will be in one part of the sentence. The number of that part is the answer. If there is no error, the answer is (5). Ignore errors of punctuation, if any.

The take in stage of (1)/ industrialisation indicates radical changes (2)/ in methods of production (3)/ in an economy (4)/. No error (5)

Answer:
To 'take in' is 'to grant admittance or make something smaller' it later which is wrong here according to the sentence. Here, instead of 'in' we need to use 'off'. As “take off” means 'to make a start'. Thus the error is in the first part of the sentence.

Que. 3

Two coaches of a passenger train (1)/ derailed after the soil under the railway tracks (2)/ was washed and trains running (3)/ on the route were diverted. (4)/ No error (5)

Answer: The error is in the third part of the sentence. The use of ‘washed’ implies that the soil was ‘cleaned’, hence providing no reason for the derailment to take place. ‘Washed’ should be followed by the adverb ‘away’ in order to convey that the soil was removed/ cleared away due to water
Que. 4

The organization gave in (1)/ the prizes to the best (2)/ school that won in almost (3)/ all the competitions that were held (4)/. No Error (5)

Answer: The correction is in the preposition used in the sentence. The correct preposition would be ‘away’ instead of ‘in’. The preposition ‘in’ refers to the inner side or part would be incorrect and hence the appropriate preposition would be ‘away’ with the verb ‘give’ which means ‘to distribute’. Thus there is an error in part 1.
Que.5

A leading textile manufacturer(1)/, one of the fastest growing in the country(2)/, is looking for a marketing manager(3)/ to look up the affairs of the company(4)/ No errors (5)

Answer: The correct sentence will be ‘look after the affairs of the company. To ‘look up’ means ‘to find or search for something’, ‘look after’ means ‘to take care of something’. Since the marketing manager has to take care of the affairs of the company, we use ‘look after’. Thus, the error is in part 4.

What are the probable reasons of delay in SSC CGL 2017 Tier 2 and notification of SSC CGL 2018 ( TIER 1)?

Staff selection Commission released a notice regarding the extension of SSC CGL 2017 Tier2. The same can be seen by clicking on the link given below:

As you can see there is no particular reason or reasons specified in the official notification but many of aspirants are curious to know the probable reasons as they are waiting to join as an officer’s post as early as possible. Qualifying SSC CGL TIER 1 Exam and not getting the opportunity to appear in the qualifying exam which is Tier 2 have given MIDNIGHT BLUES to them. Now those who have qualified the prelims of SSC CGL 2017 Exam have to study and keep on revising till the next scheduled date of the examination which is extended for a month. Initially it was scheduled to be held from 18.1.2018 to 20.1.2018 but now it has been postponed and will be held from 17.2.2018 to 22.2.2018.

Although it is good news for those who did not prepare for SSC CGL 2017 tier 2 till date and they get more time to prepare now yet this delay does harm those aspirants who have prepared hard for the exam for a long time. The reasons for the unnecessary delays notified in the recent SSC CGL 2017 Tier 2 Exam is not mentioned in their notification. But if we analyze the circumstances prevailing following probable reasons could have led to the delay in SSC CGL 2017 Tier 2 delay such as:
  1. As SBI PO Exam and IBPS PO Exam pattern have been changed in the recent examinations held besides being online may be one of the reasons that SSC is also planning to change the Exam pattern for SSC CGL2018 Exam.
  2. Probable change could be that SSC CGL Tier 1 is going to be the Qualifying exam.
  3. SSC might abolish Interviews for Non-Gazetted post which was in the news recently as one of the policy to be adopted by the Central Government for the future government exams. It means that there will be no role of marks obtained in the Tier 1 Exam in the final merit.
  4. The process of selection will be shortened as now the main purpose of Tier-1 is to shortlist the candidates for the Tier-2 Exam. Thereafter Tier 2, again wait for the result and then joining time.
5) SSC might introduce a separate exam of “Finance and Economics in Tier-2 stage for newly created post of Auditor.

These reasons are based on our assumptions made on the present day situation of employment procedure followed by various other public sector undertakings.
All the best and look forward for a better tomorrow!!!

Which exam is tough SBI PO or IBPS PO?

If you speak of difficulty level, I would say both IBPS PO and SBI PO are tough to crack. The reason is that banking sector exams demands sectional cut-off which demands perfection and speed in all the subjects to be examined.

Aspirants can overcome this difficulty by joining SBI PO BANK COACHING to achieve the goal or to grab his or her DREAM JOB.

In the year 2017, SBI PO Exam pattern have seen a huge change in the English Language Section. The questions were more on the comprehensive side than just to solve the grammatical errors or fill up the appropriate parts of speech. This section can be enhanced by reading regular English Newspaper, articles in the magazines, etc.,  to improve the reading ability and understanding it there and then.

Sectional cut-off demands perfection and speed in Quantitative aptitude section which can be improved by thoroughly studying the basic concepts of all the topics of the syllabus given by SBI examining authority.

General Awareness section is very scoring if you keep yourself aware of the latest affairs regarding economical and business issues related to India and the world. Further you should learn the basics of economics, computers and business administration.

If you like to solve PUZZLES then Logical Reasoning is the best subject as it is not having any formal syllabus. Only practice will make you perfect in solving all the questions and thus you will gain speed too.

Speed and Accuracy are the only MANTRAS to crack the HARD NUT called SBI PO Exam or IBPS PO EXAM.

wishing you all success in the forthcoming SBI P.O. EXAM OR IBPS PO EXAM!!
